I was very young when… ‘the entire UN presented me with the Award for Journalism’. Unforgettable the day of the award-giving ceremony at the ESIEA (Union of Journalists in Athens Daily Newspapers), unforgettable the speech made by Theo Loir, then head of the Athens office, unforgettable my mother’s tears.
My relationship with the UN, constructive for several years, at the end flagged, if we exclude the special dedication I did on UNESCO in Paris in 2008, on the invitation of Giorgos Anastasopoulos (then our Ambassador to the international organization for ERT WORLD). During our good phase, I made many trips back and forth to various countries, either for the Palestinian issue or the refugees or racial discrimination, issues that the UN has under its wing.
